چکیده

results the results showed that sensitivity and specificity were respectively 84.12% and 92% for‎ recombinant protein srs3 and 92% and 96% for rsag1. conclusions recombinant proteins srs3 and rsag1 are promising antigens in diagnostic assays for detection of specific antibodies against t. gondii. background infections by the protozoan parasite toxoplasma gondii (t. gondii) are widely prevalent in human and animals. srs3 is a member of srs antigen family (glycosylphosphatidylinositol-linked proteins), which is structurally related to the highly immunogenic surface antigen sag1. the sag family of proteins can cover the surface of t. gondii bradyzoites and tachyzoites. objectives the aim of this study was to evaluate the recombinant srs3 protein for diagnosis of toxoplasmosis by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay. methods indirect immunoglobulin g (igg) enzyme-linked immunosorbent assays (elisas) with recombinant srs3 and sag1 proteins of t. gondii were developed to evaluate the diagnosis of infection in pregnant women.

Evaluation of Enzyme Linked Immunosorbent Assay, Utilizing Native Antigen B for Serodiagnosis of Human Hydatidosis

Background: Hydatidosis is one of the cosmopolitan parasitic zoonoses caused by the larval stage of Echinococcus granulosus. Diagnosis of hydatidosis is still an unresolved problem. Serological tests using crude antigens for diagnosis of E. granulosus are sensi-tive, however their specificity are not satisfactory. Therefore, WHO recommended spe-cific serological methods using specific antigens,...

Application of a modified human enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay kit for diagnosis of hydatidosis in sheep

Cystic hydatid disease (hydatidosis) is one of the most important zoonosis that is caused by the larval stage of Echinococcus granulosus . As its diagnosis by clinical symptoms alone is difficult and confusing, serologic diagnostic techniques are used to confirm the disease. These techniques can also be used for   epidemiologic studies. The present study was performed with a commercial human en...

ENZYME-LINKED IMMUNOSORBENT ASSAY OF NEOPTERIN USING PENICILLINASE AS LABEL

An enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay for neopterin using penicillinase as marker enzyme is reported here by polyclonal antibodies against neopterin conjugated to bovine serum albumin which were raised in rabbits. Immunoglobulin fractions were purified and coated on wells of microtiter plates. A chain heterology was introduced in neopterin derivative and conjugated to penicillinase. The assa...

Serodiagnosis of ovine toxoplasmosis in Mongolia by an enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay with recombinant Toxoplasma gondii matrix antigen

Toxoplasma gondii matrix antigen 1 (TgMAG1), known as the 65-kDa protein, which is abundantly expressed in both bradyzoites and tachyzoites, was evaluated as a candidate for the development of a diagnostic reagent for ovine toxoplasmosis. The TgMAG1 gene was expressed in Escherichia coli as a fusion protein with glutathione S-transferase (GST), and the recombinant TgMAG1 (rTgMAG1) was tested in...

Evaluation of enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay for diagnosis of post-kala-azar dermal leishmaniasis with crude or recombinant k39 antigen.

The diagnosis of post-kala-azar dermal leishmaniasis (PKDL), a dermatosis that provides the only known reservoir for the parasite Leishmania donovani in India, remains a problem. Timely recognition and treatment of PKDL would contribute significantly to the control of kala-azar. We evaluated here the potential of the enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) as a diagnostic tool for PKDL. Antig...
